21 Balloons and Great Gatsby Projects

The 4th-8th graders read The Twenty-One Balloons by William Pene de Bois. The children created a replica of a hot air balloon and chose a country to research and then decorated the balloon to symbolize that country. When we were together the children presented their projects by explaining their balloon creations and teaching us about the country chosen. The high school group read The Great Gatsby and were assigned to create a multimedia project demonstrating a literary aspect of the book or the 1920’s. The first project highlights the characters of the book and the second project was an education about the 1920’s.
