Casting Crowns: Rest in the Story?

Living He loved me, dying He saved me

And buried He carried my sins far away

Rising He justified freely forever

One day He’s coming, oh, glorious day, oh, glorious day

Glorious day

Lyrics from Casting Crowns, Glorious Day

Anyone can die for the good of another but being raised from the dead is a different story. Jesus’ resurrection tells me God was pleased with his sacrifice. If he had not been pleased, if Jesus had not been the perfect sacrifice, God would not have declared the sacrifice as good. This would have left me doomed for eternal separation from God. Being raised from the dead is proof of God’s pleasure with his son’s sacrifice. Because I’m in Christ, God is pleased with me too. This song is a great reminder that the justification Jesus bought assures me that if I belong to him, I will exist in the eternal presence of God, as his dear daughter, no matter what.

Living Outside the Lines rests in the risen Savior.

Can you rest in the payment Jesus made?

Did Jesus pay for all your sins or only the ones you’re willing to admit?

  1. That's a beautiful song. I love Casting Crowns.

  2. One of my favorites from Casting Crowns — Just had the WONDERFUL opportunity to see them at the Colorado Rockies Faith day last Sunday; they performed this song!

Thank you for the wonderful reminder that "God is pleased with me too."

    Great post!
